Nissan Juke 2013 review

Nissan has launched the latest version of its popular hatchback variant, Nissan Juke with minor modifications. The modification consists of an upgraded navigation feature with a brand new audio system incorporated in the SV variant. Nissan Juke is the perfect “attention gatherer” with its stylish exteriors. However the interiors of the vehicle may not provide the so called “spacious” feel. If you like to compromise the spacious feel for a sporty look and better handling, you may certainly go for this hatchback. This article contains a review of the Nissan Juke 2013 with special focus on its performance, types of variants available and safety features.

The variants available

Nissan Juke has been released with 3 variants. The variants are the base model S, middle model SV and the high end model SL.

The base variant features a 17-inch alloy wheel, keyless entry, cruise control, Bluetooth support, an efficient audio system with 6-speakers and a lot more. The SV variant is equipped with a lot of cool features, which can offer the rider a better riding experience. Some of the features incorporated in the SV variant include automatic climate settings, keyless entry, sun roof option, and Integrated Control system and satellite radio. As I had already mentioned in the introduction, the SV variants is equipped with an upgraded navigation feature that makes use of a touch screen which is linked with a rear view camera. SV variant is incorporated with a high performance Rockford Fosgate sound system. The high end variant SL is nothing but the SV version with additional features like foglights, automatic headlights etc.

Performance aspects

When speaking on the performance aspect, Nissan Juke 2013 is equipped with a 1.6L, 4-cylinder turbocharged engine, which can deliver a decent horsepower of 188hp with a torque of 177 P-Ft. The base model S variant incorporates a continuously variable automatic variable transmission system which is commonly referred to as the CVT. The higher variants make use of both the 6-speed manual and CVT transmission systems. One of the noteworthy features of the Juke is that all the 3 variants are equipped with an “all-wheel drive” option. However when you opt for the all-wheel drive, you have to bear the CVT transmission system- which is the only system available.

Here comes the acceleration and the fuel consumption aspects of the vehicle. The findings mentioned below are based on the test drive conducted with the front wheel drive variant. The acceleration of the vehicle is amazing; it can touch the 60mph mark in 7.4 seconds. For a hatchback, this is an absolutely wonderful number to boast about. The all-wheel drive variants can also offer you figures very close to this one.

Irrespective of the type of the variant, the vehicle may offer you a mileage of 27mpg in the city. On highways the vehicle may deliver up to 32mpg. The figures may slightly drop, if you go for the manual transmission mode.

Safety aspects

When it comes to safety features of Nissan Juke, the vehicle impresses on quite a few fronts. It possesses a decent traction control and stability. With the help of antilock disk brakes Juke can be reduced from 60mph to zero in less than 125 feet, which is quite a remarkable achievement. Apart from this, you have the ABS that modulates brake pressure.

The latest Nissan Juke is the best option if you like to have a pleasant hatchback experience. But the vehicle may not be suitable for long distance family rides- the space being the issue here. However, considering the driving experience that this little monster gives you, you will not be disappointed!
